What to expect from SUSECON 2025
It’s been a while – hey, there was a pandemic, right – but the Computer Weekly Open Source Insider blog is getting ready for SUSECON 2025.
Since we last made it to SUSECON 2020, quite a bit has happened at the open and secure enterprise-grade solution platform company i.e. there have been changes of CEO, changes of opening tagline (SUSE rarely refers to itself as an operating system company despite the existence of SUSE Linux, but then again neither does Microsoft and rumours suggest that Redmond does have an OS) and many changes in terms of core product and tools.
In recent months, SUSE has put a lot of product rollout effort into its EdgeSuite technology, its alignment to major enterprise technology players including Red Hat and of course its efforts to deliver what it says is the end of the need for multiple monitoring tools through all-in-one observability on Rancher.
SUSECON 2025
So what can we expect from SUSECON 2025?
The company says that SUSECON is its annual global conference where SUSE customers, partners and community members delve into how the latest open source advances can meet the technical needs and business challenges of the enterprise IT customer.
The 100+ breakout sessions outside of the keynotes will cover Linux, enterprise-level container management, edge computing and a variety of services, tools and applications designed to provide business insights for companies working with increasingly cloud-native technologies.
Inspirational Col. Nicole
SUSECON 2025 keynotes will delivered by the company’s executive team. Principally that will mean Dirk-Peter “DP” van Leeuwen, chief executive officer, SUSE ad Dr. Thomas Di Giacomo, chief technology and product officer at SUSE. Both of whom will tall about the SUSE’s vision and direction for the future.
In addition, attendees can hear from Col. Nicole Malachowski (Col, as in colonel) as she provides insights gained from personal experience regarding leadership, pushing boundaries and thriving in high-pressure environments!
“At this year’s SUSECON25 we continue our story of how open source innovation is building the future of technology. CIOs today need more flexibility and openness to combine existing and new capabilities from different vendors. We and our partners showcase how integration and interaction from Enterprise Linux, to Kubernetes Management, operations at the Edge and AI help customers securely deliver modern solutions faster to achieve their business goals while preserving choice,” said Brent Schroeder, CTO, SUSE.
Example sessions
Examples of sessions at the show itself include a chance to explore the power of API-driven management in SUSE Multi-Linux Manager and learn how to implement effective, secure access control with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). This session will provide a technical deep dive into SUSE Multi-Linux Manager’s API capabilities, showcasing how teams can securely automate and streamline their workflows across multi-Linux environments.

… and for some fun, the “Demopalooza” (demonstration area expo-palooze, get it?) is filled with innovative, real-world solutions.
In its 13th year, SUSECON is the company’s annual global conference where customers, partners and community come to explore how the latest open source advances can meet their technical needs and business challenges… and we will be there to report on it all.
