Recognizing the Existence of Allah

Bismi-Llah, Al-Rahmani, Al-Rahim. Al-hamdulil-Lahi Rabbi al-‘Alamin, wa as-salat wa as-salamu 'ala Muhammad, wa 'ala Ahli Baytihi, at-tayyibin, at-tahirin. Wa la'natu Allahi 'ala ada'im ajma'in.

One might ask, how can we come to realize that there is a God? Or how do we know that Allah exists? How to come about that by using our intellect? And realizing that there is a God? I would like to say that we should not look at the things around us like the sun, the moon or the stars or the trees, it is just normal things. But we should see these as signs that point towards Allah, Subhana wa Ta'ala.

We see that Imam Ali, alayhi as-salam, he uses these things to prove the existence of Allah. He tells us to pay attention to Allah's creation. Even small... He even uses examples small as an ant, or a locust, to prove the existence of Allah, Subhana wa Ta'ala.

We see that when we look at these things as signs of Allah and we see that they are organized, and we know that everything that is organized, it has an Organizer. When we see, like if we come into a room and we see that there is a cake, we know that this cake was not just thrown together haphazardly, that it just came about all of a sudden. We know that someone made this cake. A baker made this cake, and they shaped it and it was very nice looking cake. We see that someone made it. This thing was organized. It had an organizer.

Everything that is organized has an organizer. We see that the world is organized. When we look at it, the sun and the moon are on orbits and everything functions in its proper way. It is organized. Then we realize that there must be an organizer. Who is this organizer? This organizer is none other than Allah, Subhana wa Ta'ala.

So we can come to the conclusion that there is an Organizer or there is a God, a supreme Being, by paying attention to the signs in the creation. We should look at all of these signs as things that point towards Allah, Subhana wa Ta'ala.
