Yes they are allowed to cook but with out touching the food with wetness. If they are from People of Book (Ahlul Kitab), then many if our great scholars consider them as Taahir.

The evidence in Hadeeth prohibits the sinful music which is used in the sinful gatherings. Martial or funeral music is not prohibited.
