Circumcision

Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin from the human penis. In the most common procedure, the foreskin is opened, adhesions are removed, and the foreskin is separated from the glans. After that, a circumcision device may be placed, and then the foreskin is cut off.

It is a blessing that you have decided to proceed with circumcision, which is an important practice in Islam, and very good physically. Due to your age, the healing process will be bit longer and inconvenient, but the earlier you do it, the better.

To remove your doubt, see a doctor specialised in circumcision, to see whether or not the procedure was done correctly.

You can either show him a picture of your private part, or allow him to see, enough for him to assess.

No. On the contrary, the authentic evidence from Ahlul Bayt (AS) who don't say but what the Prophet (SAWA) said, is very clear that circumcision is obligatory.

Circumcision is obligatory as an act by itself on every Muslim males and is a condition for validity of Tawaf around the Ka’ba in Hajj or Umra.
Circumcision is obligatory on every Muslim male or convert male to Islam. Being a convert to Islam, it is compulsory for you to get circumcised as the Hadeeth narrated from Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (AS) that Imam Ali (AS) said: When a man becomes a Muslim, he must get circumcised even if he reached the age of eighty.
( Was'il al-Shia by al-Hurr al-Aamili, vol. 21, page 440.)
It is not allowed for man to perform Tawaf ( around the Ka'bah) if he is not circumcised as it narrated from Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq ( AS): uncircumcised man is not allowed to do Tawaf around Ka'bah. ( Wasa'il al-Shia by al-Hurr al-Aamili, vol. 13, page 270).

In Islam circumcision of a male is regarded as a Sunnah, strongly emphasised on, especially at a young age. The specific time that a male should be circumcised, being very mustahab, is on the seventh day after his birth. If parents are not able to do it in this time, then any time after that.

If the male reaches bulugh and has not yet been circumcised, he will be responsible to get it done. In Shi'i jurisprudence, many of our esteemed jurists consider it to be obligatory for a Muslim male to undergo circumcision whenever they can, if they were not circumcised when they were young.

If a male is not circumcised, this will not affect his acts of worship, except for Hajj. If a man wishes to perform his Hajj pilgrimage, one of the obligatory prerequisites is that he must be circumcised in order for his pilgrimage to be valid.

In answering the specific question, being circumcised or performing circumcision is not a necessary condition for converting to Islam or being a Muslim, and he can do it whenever possible, even after converting.

For any male, whether Muslim by birth, or having converted to Islam, who has not undergone the process, they should consider doing it, as there are many religious and physical benefits for it.

In any case, please refer to the specific view of your Marja' taqleed in this regard.

And Allah knows best.

You can be a Shia Muslim by just believing in the main faith of Islam (There no God but Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger and Ali is the successor after the Prophet). This faith is enough for you to become a Shia Muslim.

Obligatory acts are not condition to be a Shia Muslim although you need to do whatever you know and can afford.

When you perform Hajj, you need to get yourself circumcised before performing Tawaf around the Ka'bah.

Bismillah,

Asalamu Alaykom,

The circumcision is correct if approved by the expert who performed it that he took the foreskin off during the procedure.

Due to the penis being a living tissue, it may  sometimes change in size where all the penis head is exposed, and at other times, leaving some of the head covered as mentioned in your example.

After consulting with a brother I know who works in this field, and who is an expert in circumcision, he confirmed that your issue is common and wouldn’t be classed as ‘uncircumcised’. Many other adults he has checked also experience this after they were circumcised when younger.

Ulema say that the important part is for the top part of the head to be exposed (meaning the urinating hole).

Some extra skin sometimes going a bit over the head when it’s cold wouldn’t invalidate the circumcision as at other times the head will be fully exposed in a normal state.

The ulema also state that one can rely on those who perform circumcision to take the correct amount. So you may trust their judgement.

May Allah grant you success

It is compulsory on any new Muslim man to get himself circumcised.
Circumcision for him is an obligatory act (Wajib). If he does not
perform this obligatory act, his Tawaaf around the Ka’aba will be
invalid and if he slaughters any animal, that animal will be not be
Halal.

As far as having children with his Muslim wife, it is permissible in principle, but
his Muslim wife should be sure that he is really a Muslim who does not object
to the rules of Islam.

The Muslim women should be sure about the future of her marriage future with him and should not, God-forbid, have to face unexpected situation that he rejects the rules of Islam.

Wassalaam.

There is no such act in obligatory or recommended acts in Islam called female circumcision. Circumcision is obligatory on males only not females. Female circumcision is a cultural act practiced in some countries by people belonging to different religions. It is being practiced in some areas in Africa by Christians and Muslims and other communities.

Cutting any part of the female genitalia or causing any harm to the female is Haraam (forbidden) in Islam.
